Dawn receives Vee’s visa application and accompanying paperwork in the oddest fashion, but it allows her to get the ball rolling in bringing him to America. Not long after, she realizes that if she wants his family to be at the wedding she has to pick a date, so she lands on September 5th. The only problem? Vee’s paperwork has not been processed yet, so whether the groom will be in the country for the wedding day is still up in the air.
Regardless of Vee’s current status, Dawn continues to blaze down the path of wedding planning with the set date only 6 weeks away. In the midst, she receives yet another call from D.C., this time as a courtesy check-in to see how the process is going.
While submitting Vee’s papers, Dawn discovers a rather large detail about his first marriage that throws her off kilter and sparks their first fight. Through many cassette tapes and letters, they are able to talk it through – though due to snail mail it takes about a month. Things take a major turn, however, when Dawn receives a final tape from Vee simply labeled “The Last One, Goodbye My Love.”
